Emmett grinned at Jenny over his shoulder when she moved her hands and looked back at Riley when Jenny spoke and he arched a brow at him. Riley rolled his eyes a little bit. Emmett’s eyes went straight to Jenny though when she walked into view and glanced down at the drink. “I think that maybe all tequila isn’t a terrible idea.” Riley chuckled from behind him and leaned to kiss Jenny’s cheek before he walked off with a snarky comment.
Emmett smiled over at her when she hopped onto the counter. “I think we can find something sufficiently filled with alcohol but not enough to have you vomiting in half an hour.” He patted her leg lightly before putting his hands back on the bottles where he had a feeling they should have remained because now he was thinking about touching her legs.
He mixed something with tequila that wouldn’t knock her over and handed it over to her. “Take it easy. there’s more booze than it tastes like it has.” His eyes got a little softer while he looked at her. “How ya doin’ Jen?”
Jenny beamed when he kissed her cheek. He was always a gentlemen to her and she ate up every second. It made her feel like a princess or a duchess or some high class woman and not just some woman who checks dogs’s butts for worms.
“No vomiting tonight,” she nodded, agreeing with him. She didn’t want to be miserable to night although she knew she wouldn’t because her best friends were here, specifically one mixing her drink.
She took the drink and eagerly took a sip smiling at how Emmett knew exactly what she liked. “Thank you Penguin,” Jenny said, overly nodding. She took another sip before setting it down when he asked her how she was.
She shrugged a little, reaching over to grab his hand. She liked holding his hand, especially when they talked. She looked down at their joined hands noticing how tiny hers looked in his. “Better,” she finally said, still staring down at their hands. She finally looked back up at him and smiled almost automatically.
“Thank you for this, it was a nice distraction all day,” Jenny said, squeezing his hand, “but Jules said no sad shit tonight so only happy emotions which is easy as cheesy because you’re here.”
